If you know me well enough, you will know I'm not a tournament player by any stretch. I love the idea of tournaments and I love to help arrange them, but the taking part side of things doesn't interest me. I'm more of a Fluff player, building armies to a code that I consider cool.
The recent tournament got me a bit excited and I designed a list with the Sisters of Battle in mind that I would consider using. The reason I am sharing this list with you, is to show you that I do think about building vicious lists, but know I will never build them because to me their not fun to play.
So... here is what I would have looked to run. This army features two detachments designed in such a way to negate the Sisters of Battle weaknesses:
Flesh Tearers Detachment
HQ
1 Sanguinary Priest with Bolt Pistol
Troops
1 Scout Squad with Full Camo, 4 Snipers and a Hellfire Shell Heavy Bolter
Fast Attack
5 Drop Pods
Sisters of Battle Detachment
HQ
1 Canoness with Rosarius, Power Sword and Combi Melta
1 Command Squad, Bless Banner, 4 Heavy Bolters, 1 Rhino
Troops
2 Battle Sister Squads with 10 Sisters each, Heavy Bolter and Rhino with Storm Bolter
Heavy
2 Retributor Squads with 4 Heavy Flamers and 1 Combi Flamer
Fast Attack
3 Dominion Squads with 4 Melta and 1 Combi Melta
Deployment
Canoness, Sanguinary Priest and Command Squad in Rhino deploy alongside the two Battle Sister Squads for objective claiming / support.
Scout Squad deploy ahead to harass enemy where they can.
Turn 1, Dominion Squads loaded in Drop Pods drop to take out armour.
Retributor squads Drop to clear up infantry from reserve.
So what does this mean?
In Turn 1 of the game I will have 3 Rhino Transports with Troops and Hq in each along with 5 Scouts ahead of the force. On my Turn 1, 3 drop pods will land with 5 Melta Guns in each that ,with Acts of Faith, potentially ignore cover.
When my reserves arrive I have two pods with 4 Heavy Flamers and 1 Flamer in each to vapourise your infantry. Their Act of Faith is Rending.
Is this the be all and end all list? No. Would it win? I have no idea. But the very thought of having 15 Melta Shots potentially on my turn 1 into your armour / big nasties is delicious.
So why post this? Simple, although I won't build this list, it's a sign of what I can build but choose not too.
