I'm sure everyone has seen all the crazy rumours flying around about what will happen to WHFB after the End Times are finished, thought it would be cool to discuss and speculate on things we've read.

  • Round bases - Seen this pop up a few times, could be possible they are looking to make it more like the LOTR game? Round bases but can also be ranked up?
  • Lore - Supposedly 200 years after the End Times finale, planet shattered and people are trapped in little bubbles of land floating in a sea of chaos
  • Only 6 factions - Elves, Humans and Chaos all being wrapped up to make 3 factions (so Beastmen/Daemons/Chaos warriors all joined together as one example)

What are your thoughts and what other interesting stuff have you guys heard?

from what I've heard/seen the rumors are warhammers going skirmish on round base's and there going to condense factions and add a new one. so it might be they go with the lord of the rings skirmish/large battle formula. but these are just the rumors I have heard. so take with a bag of salt like all rumors.

Honestly, we can't say really until 9th Hits.

The Bubble Theory is nonsense though.  The only reference to that so far has been the Lizardmen picking up their cities and getting tae f*** out of there.  What I can see however is them bringing the races closer together.  High Elves and Dark Elves moved to the Tree Huggers home which just so happens to be closer to all the fighting.  Then you have the floating cities of Lizardmen vanishing.  Oh and the Ogres moving down from the hills.  Seems a little coincidental.

I can believe the races will unite under various banners though.  Bretonnia and the Empire, maybe Dwarves too?  All the Elves in one basket.  All the Chaos in theirs.  Makes sense!

Round bases?  I don't think so.  Someone was already called out for photoshopping some pictures to show round bases.  Plus they've been spending a great deal of money on new boxes with Square bases.  Such a LARGE change seems utterly pointless.  However, the shift to larger bases for Space Marines did open up a lot of questions.

Either way, it would be nice to hear something from GW for once  Neutral

I have heard 6 factions as well, although I dont play the game anymore I keep a keen eye on rumours.  Its going to be a skirmish game with some large monsters.

Elves to be one faction. (Dark elves won finally)
Humans to be one faction.(Brets to go away)
Choas one faction
Deaemons one faction
Undead one faction
Skaven also a faction.

I dont know wether this will happen but thats the rumours floating about.  AS I said I dont have a dog in this race but it could be good for Fantasy if handeled correctly.  However I dont have much hope of thet from past track record.
